Purpose Trail

Got Drive?

The Moment

When Gunner has a job to do, you can see the difference.

His energy has somewhere to go.

He is focused.

Alert.

Engaged.

There is purpose behind the movement.

Without direction, that same energy could become distraction.

Drive by itself is not enough.

It needs somewhere meaningful to go.

The Leadership Lesson

We often celebrate driven people.

They work harder.

Move faster.

Set bigger goals.

Want more.

But drive without purpose can become exhausting.

We achieve something and immediately chase the next thing without ever asking whether the direction still matters.

The better leadership question is not simply:

How driven are you?

It is:

What is driving you?

Status?

Recognition?

Fear?

Competition?

Contribution?

Growth?

Impact?

The answer influences nearly every decision that follows.

On the Trail

Pause long enough to examine what is powering your current pace.

What are you chasing?

Why does it matter?

And if you reach it, what will actually be different?

Purpose gives drive direction.

It helps us distinguish opportunities from distractions and meaningful ambition from movement for movement’s sake.

Gunner reminds me that energy becomes far more powerful when it knows where it is going.

Trail Question

Is your drive taking you toward something that actually matters to you?
